Languedoc-Roussillon,
has undergone a major
metamorphosis in the past 30 years. Building upon its foundations
as a mass producer of table wines, the Languedoc-Rousillon now
cultivates a selection of fine cépages. Through a long process of
re-plantation and the modernization of its wineries, the region has
come to produce wines of quality and character.
Each district within the region produces a distinctive vintage, and
stringent guidelines are applied to ensure that each wine expresses
the characteristics of its origins. The final stamp of the label of
origin, such as
Vin de Pays d’Oc, is granted only upon the
satisfaction of all criteria, and each wine is subjected to the
scrutiny of tasting specialists.
